The beauty of writing Author: Enrico Rulli Publisher: Bignami Editions The beauty of writingAfter reading the first part of this book, written in a small font like the one used for unfair clauses, I thought I had thrown away ten euros. It starts off badly, it seems to get lost in excessive digressions, inserts of dubious usefulness and perfectly useless exercises. Once I got to the heart of the topic, however, I changed my mind. The manual covers the various phases of the creative process, from the initial idea to publication. Excerpts from great literary classics and parallels with the world of cinema are frequent. The aspiring writer will certainly benefit from a reading like this, while the more prepared will find some of the proposed exercises a little too banal. Punctuation handbook Author: Bice Mortara Garavelli Publisher: Laterza Punctuation handbookThe importance of correct use of punctuation marks is too often underestimated. This book constitutes a valid resource, Phone Number Data alternating clear and simple explanations with in-depth "technical jargon", without however leading to the incomprehensible and avoiding being rigid in cases in which the writer can make use of a certain discretion. A text full of examples and indications, which I recommend both to those who write for passion and to those who do it for work. The experience and advice of a great screenwriter, free from lexical virtuosity and guru-like tones. Advice to a Young Writer is a book that I have read and enjoyed very much. Anyone looking for a wide-ranging work on the art of storytelling, which does not claim to teach but can play a decisive role in the search for a personal style, should not miss this book. Write like the greats Author: William Cane Publisher: Dino Audino Write like the greatsWriting like the greats , with a slightly too pretentious title, is a book that analyzes the narrative style of twenty-one great writers, dedicating a chapter to each of them. The basic idea is good and the choice of songs (few, to be honest) intelligent and captivating. However, the brevity with which most techniques are covered constitutes an obvious limitation. Thanks to this book I noticed stylistic devices that I had never noticed in texts that I thought I knew thoroughly. It is a text that I recommend only to those who already know the basic rules of narration and are not at odds with grammar: otherwise, they would risk mechanically applying techniques that they will not have been able to understand.
